Covalent Supports LAMP

LAMP is an open source-based Web infrastructure framework for high performance, high reliability, high availability and high scalability environments based on best-of-breed components. Most cutting edge Web sites and applications grew from the open source community. As open source proved itself time and time again to be viable, commercial entities started taking notice. The benefits of LAMP ensured its continued use and growth.

Covalent is proud to support the Apache HTTP Web Server, an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX, Linux, and Windows NT. Apache HTTP is developed to provide a secure, efficient and extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP standards. Apache has been the most popular Web server on the Internet since April of 1996. The September 2005 Netcraft Web Server Survey found that more than 69% of the websites on the Internet are using Apache, thus making it more widely used than all other Web servers combined and the dominant Web server in the Fortune 1000. Covalent also provides support for robust, server side scripting languages including Perl and PHP. Both Perl and PHP are used for a wide range of tasks in the enterprise including system administration, Web development, network programming, GUI development, and more.

Covalent Technologies is among the few companies with the expertise, products and services to provide truly enterprise grade support for the Apache and Perl/PHP/Python components of the LAMP stack. Apache and Perl/PHP/Python are the actual core part of LAMP. The basic functionality of LAMP relies on Apache and Perl/PHP/Python.

Full commercial production-level technical support and professional services for Apache HTTP, Perl and PHP are available now for current and new Covalent customers. For more information contact SpringSource at 650/425-3515 or via email at sales@springsource.com. On-site training for development available upon request. Architectural and migration consulting services around Apache HTTP are also offered.

Web services are defining an entirely new computing platform. We are thrilled to partner with such a well-respected open source provider as Covalent and excited to play an important role in the rapid adoption of Web services in the enterprise.
