Hyperic HQ is a fully integrated management framework which ships with all
the necessary components required to get you up and running in less than 60
minutes. Because HQ ships with a built in PostgreSQL database, and is built
to manage more than one agent, we ask that customers deploy the HQ server on
dedicated hardware.
The Hyperic HQ built-in database is the easiest to install and will be able
to handle all but the most demanding environments. For this reason, it is the
recommended database to use with HQ. However, if your infrastructure already
includes installed and configured Oracle or PostgreSQL database servers, these
can be used just as easily by selecting the appropriate database in the installer.
