Because of Apache's standards-based interoperability, Covalent Enterprise Ready
Server is able to serve as the presentation layer for all major application
servers and Web-based applications, reducing the complexity of Web infrastructures.
It includes a streamlined installer for easy setup and rapid deployment.
Covalent enhances the already powerful Apache platform with added convenience and functionality. These enhancements include:
Manageability - You can either work tirelessly for days building the backend server framework, or can get the entire infrastructure up and running in minutes with Covalent Enterprise Ready Server. ERS includes and enables automated installation of popular languages to use with Apache for dynamic content and server management, including Java, Perl, and PHP.
Security - Covalent Enterprise Ready Server includes mod_ssl, which provides 128-bit encryption. It also supports hardware acceleration cards and includes a certificate management tool.
Java Functionality - Covalent Enterprise Ready Server includes Apache Tomcat Application Server to enable Java capabilities with both Java servlets and JSP (Java Server Pages). Covalent Enterprise Ready Server with Tomcat cost-effectively satisfies the requirements of most users while avoiding the needless purchase of costly J2EE application servers.
Rapid Deployment - ERS includes utilities for rapid deployment of customized and secure Web environments.
File Transfer/Mobility - ERS FTP shares the scalability and reliability of the underlying Apache architecture. With support for both multi-threaded and multi-processing models, ERS FTP enables you to scale FTP. ERS FTP supports RFC 2228 for FTP transmissions over SSL, providing an industry standard method of securely transmitting information using FTP. Both implicit and explicit SSL connections are supported for the widest compatibility with commercial FTP client software. The FTP module also supports the draft specification for SSL/TLS support.
